Dear Skater,

As you may have heard, our facility at Planet Ice will not be opening until January. Therefore, our season is on hold for now.

Thankfully, our neighbouring clubs are willing to take on Ridge Meadows Racers as associate members. So, if you are interested in continuing to skate in the meantime, you can practice with the Langley Blades and/or the Mission Racers.

Langley - www.langleybladesspeedskating.com

Wednesday and Friday 5:30-8 (Langley Sportsplex) with our coach, Julian Green.

Sunday 10:30-1 (North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex)

Langley has a punch card system ($200 for 10 sessions), so you can drop in when it is convenient with your schedule. We will send along more information from Mission when we know the specifics. Registration information for all speed skating clubs in British Columbia can be found at icereg.ca. Please be in contact with the club before you head out (to arrange details about which group would be most suitable to skate with, and so they can make you aware of their COVID protocols, etc).

Mission – Mission Leisure Centre - missionspeedskating.com

Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-5:30 junior 5:30-6:30 senior

Location: north rink 7650 Grand St. Mission, BC

Note: the Mission facility won’t allow drop ins and their numbers are limited by COVID.

Price: Anyone signed up would pay the below fees until Christmas:

1 day per week $120
2 days $240

equivalent to $10 drop in
12 weeks until Christmas.

Or prorated fees
50% of sessions before Christmas given we are almost end Sept now.
L2T and up $234
FunD $160

Please direct any questions to Emily Barnsdale at emily@barnsdale.net

We hope to begin skating again at Maple Ridge Planet Ice in January. In the meantime, we would like to hold onto our membership. We will be sending out information in the next few days about registering as club members for a token fee. That way, even if you practice with another club, you can still call yourself a Ridge Meadows Racer, and we will be able to maintain our club status.

This is an extremely difficult time for our club. COVID restrictions were already making it difficult to organize practices and meets. Without a facility, now we cannot learn and train together as a cohesive group at all. We hope that you can maintain your interest in speed skating in these trying times. Remember, speed skating is an exciting sport and our club is a great community to be a part of. We hope to see the Ridge Meadows Racers together again in January.
